Vixens have a ball at Blackpool Football Tournament
Manchester Vixens headed to Blackpool in June for a weekend packed with fun, football and fairgrounds.
We took 27 women across two teams to the Blackpool Football Tournament, ready to enjoy ourselves and see what we could do on the pitch.
Our Vixens team battled their way through to the quarter finals, where the game went all the way to a penalty shoot-out. Sadly, we narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals.
Team 2 went one step further, fighting their way through to the final, where they faced Blackpool Therapy. In another nail-biting finish, the match was decided by penalties, with Blackpool Therapy taking the win.
Blackpool Therapy proved to be the team that knocked both Vixens sides out of the competition, but they were a fantastic group of women and a real credit to the tournament.
Despite the results, it was a brilliant weekend of football, friendship and plenty of laughs. We’re already looking forward to next year’s trip to Blackpool, hopefully with a few more penalties going our way!
